Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how My Honey Crate (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information through myhoneycrate.com (the “Site”). The Site is a directory of honey producers and beekeepers. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
When you create an account (required to claim or submit a listing): Name, email address, and any profile information you provide.
When you submit or manage a listing: Business name, description, contact details, photos, location, and any other information you include in your listing.
When you make a purchase (e.g., a featured-listing upgrade through our store): Name, email address, billing details, and order information. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store full payment card details.
When you sign up for email updates: Email address (and name, if provided). We use Mailchimp to manage our mailing list.
When you contact us, comment, or leave a review: Name, email address, and the content of your message, comment, or review.
Automatically collected: Cookies and similar technologies, plus basic technical data such as browser type and pages visited, collected via Google Analytics to understand site usage.
How We Use Information
- To operate the directory: display listings, manage accounts, and process listing upgrades.
- To respond to your inquiries and moderate submissions.
- To send email updates you signed up for. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-outs promptly.
- To improve the Site and understand how visitors use it.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Site — for example with our hosting provider, payment processor, and email provider (Mailchimp) — or as required by law.
Email Marketing
If you join our mailing list, we will send you occasional updates about My Honey Crate. Each email identifies us as the sender, includes our physical mailing address, and contains a working unsubscribe link, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link or contacting us.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies for essential functions (keeping you signed in, remembering cart and checkout state), for email signup popups, and for analytics (Google Analytics). You can manage your cookie preferences using the consent banner. You can also disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features — such as signing in or checking out — may not work properly.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including keeping our website software up to date, using secure connections (HTTPS), and limiting administrative access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
- Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: You may request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations (for example, records we must keep for transactions).
California residents: this policy is provided in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA). We do not track users across third-party websites for advertising purposes and do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@wonderbot.com.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
